Ply rating
Generally the higher the ply rating, the more load it can carry. If you are matching tyres on the same axle, they need to have the same ply rating, or alternatively need to have load index numbers which differ from each other by no more than 2.

This shows the rated maximum load and speed that this tyre is built for. Tyres need to be able carry the maximum load that the vehicle is designed for, and if you're running two different tyres on the same axle, the numbers can't be any more than two digits apart.
